“The University of Virginia has received nearly $60 million in ARRA funds over a two-year period to support more than 130 individual projects,” said University of Virginia President John T. Casteen III. “This funding has enabled our faculty members to pursue research in biology, medicine, nursing, astronomy, physics, engineering, education, and other disciplines. During a period of severe financial constraint, ARRA funds provided critical support to sustain excellence in research at this University and other research universities around the nation.”
